Fee-Paying Student Visa

    • Offer of Place from an approved education provider

    • Meet health and character requirements

    • Evidence of funds:

      • At least NZ$20,000 per year for living costs (or NZ$17,000 for school years 1–13)

    • Work up to 20 hours/week during study and full-time in holidays (if permitted)

    • May be eligible to bring partner and/or dependent children

Pathway Student Visa

  • Perfect for students transitioning through different levels of study.

    • Enrolment in a Pathway-approved program (e.g. English + foundation + degree)

    • Financial evidence covering the full duration of the study

    • One visa for multiple courses—no need to apply separately

    • Work rights similar to Fee-Paying Student Visa (depending on the level of study)

Exchange Student Visa

  • Best for students coming to NZ temporarily through a formal exchange arrangement.

    • Confirmed place in a recognised exchange scheme

    • Proof of sufficient funds to support your stay

    • Study in NZ as part of a school or university exchange

    • Work part-time up to 20 hours/week and full-time in breaks (if conditions allow)

Post-Study Work Visa

  • Your bridge from study to career in New Zealand.

    • Completed an eligible qualification in New Zealand

    • Apply within a set timeframe after your student visa ends

    • Work in NZ for 1–3 years, depending on your qualification and where it was completed

    • A valuable step toward long-term residence or skilled employment
