Visitor Visa

For tourists, family visits, or short-term study (up to 3 months).

Valid passport (must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your departure)
Meet health and character standards (medical checks may apply for longer stays)
Proof of funds: approx. NZD $1,000/month or $400/month if accommodation is prepaid
Onward travel ticket or proof of funds to purchase one

Stay up to 9 months in an 18-month period
Include partner and dependent children (aged 19 and under)
NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority)

Note: Australian permanent residents also need an NZeTA

Valid for multiple visits over 2 years
Allows stays up to 3 months per visit (or 6 months for UK citizens)
IVL (Tourism Levy) applies
Parent & Grandparent Visitor Visa

Business Visitor Visa

Digital Nomad Visitor Visa (New from Jan 2025)

For remote workers employed overseas.

Work remotely in NZ for up to 90 days, extendable to 9 months
